{"id":1437,"date":"2012-12-09T00:00:01","date_gmt":"2012-12-09T05:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hypnosisinmedia.com\/blog\/?p=1437"},"modified":"2012-12-08T00:25:23","modified_gmt":"2012-12-08T05:25:23","slug":"absence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hypnosisinmedia.com\/blog\/1437\/absence\/","title":{"rendered":"About My Absence&nbsp;\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, it has been more than a cou\u00adple months since I post\u00aded last, and there\u2019s a rea\u00adson for&nbsp;it.<\/p>\n<p>Well, sev\u00ader\u00adal reasons.<\/p>\n<p>My last post was way back at the end of August, at a time when I was prepar\u00ading to work on a series of PSA-relat\u00aded videos for a pro\u00adduc\u00ader friend of mine. The whole sto\u00adry is told in the post in my pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal blog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alphavideoproduction.com\/blog-how-i-spent-my-summer-vacation-2012\/\">here<\/a>, but the short ver\u00adsion was that soon after I vol\u00adun\u00adteered, I went from edit\u00ading to active\u00adly shoot\u00ading the mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal, with the assis\u00adtance of a good friend and his video equip\u00adment. The edit process took up just about the entire month of August, inter\u00adspersed with some research, leav\u00ading very lit\u00adtle time left over to car\u00adry me through into the fol\u00adlow\u00ading months.<\/p>\n<p>Then, instead of writ\u00ading more blog posts, I was writ\u00ading oth\u00ader stuff. Among my writ\u00ading projects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First and fore\u00admost was the release of my first offi\u00adcial Word\u00adPress plu\u00adg\u00adin, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alphavideoproduction.com\/blog-new-wordpress-plugin-unicode-character-keyboard-2\/\">Uni\u00adcode Char\u00adac\u00adter Key\u00adboard<\/a>. It was a long process, as the last sev\u00ader\u00adal weeks of devel\u00adop\u00adment con\u00adtained a con\u00adstant stream of inno\u00adva\u00adtions and addi\u00adtions until I final\u00adly decid\u00aded I need\u00aded to stop dick\u00ader\u00ading with the code and just release it. That was a cou\u00adple of weeks ago and I\u2019m already deep into the first revi\u00adsions. This process included:&nbsp;<ul>\n<li>Upgrad\u00ading my web devel\u00adop\u00adment plat\u00adform to Net\u00adBeans (I had been using Home\u00adSite which was bought up by DreamWeaver which even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly got bought up by Adobe) and wish\u00ading I had done so much, much ear\u00adli\u00ader. Also installing Tor\u00adtois\u00adeSVN in order to inter\u00adface with the Word\u00adPress Sub\u00adver\u00adsion con\u00adtent man\u00adage\u00adment sys\u00adtem and dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00ading it also plugged into NetBeans.<\/li>\n<li>Set\u00adting up and trans\u00adfer\u00adring my com\u00adpa\u00adny web\u00adsite (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.alphavideoproduction.com\">here<\/a>) because the Word\u00adPress plu\u00adg\u00adin sub\u00admis\u00adsion process requires some\u00adplace to find the plu\u00adg\u00adin to review it before accept\u00ading and releas\u00ading&nbsp;it.<\/li>\n<li>Blog\u00adging about some of the var\u00adi\u00adous issues relat\u00aded to writ\u00ading the Uni\u00adcode Char\u00adac\u00adter Key\u00adboard plu\u00adg\u00adin and blog\u00adging about my video busi\u00adness and oth\u00ader video relat\u00aded sub\u00adjects that caught my atten\u00adtion, all of which can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alphavideoproduction.com\/blog\/\">here<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Sev\u00ader\u00adal chap\u00adters of and a host of sup\u00adple\u00admen\u00adtal mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal for a pos\u00adsi\u00adble YA SF nov\u00adel, in a future civ\u00adi\u00adliza\u00adtion that make heavy use of psy\u00adchic abil\u00adi\u00adties for many com\u00admon func\u00adtions, includ\u00ading inter\u00adstel\u00adlar trav\u00adel (tele\u00adpor\u00adta\u00adtion) and telepa\u00adthy. One of the cen\u00adtral char\u00adac\u00adters is a pow\u00ader\u00adful telepath who has par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar expe\u00adri\u00adence in bypass\u00ading tele\u00adpath\u00adic shields and using a spe\u00adcif\u00adic tele\u00adpath\u00adic abil\u00adi\u00adty to put her tar\u00adgets to&nbsp;sleep.<\/li>\n<li>The start\u00ading chap\u00adters and some addi\u00adtion\u00adal mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal of what might turn out to be a tril\u00ado\u00adgy set in the Paizo Pub\u00adlish\u00ading Pathfind\u00ader RPG cam\u00adpaign world. Once I get more infor\u00adma\u00adtion about the cam\u00adpaign world and fill out a lot of the details I just might sub\u00admit it; oth\u00ader\u00adwise, its a back\u00adground study of the cen\u00adtral char\u00adac\u00adter, a kit\u00adsune enchantress. I got the idea from see\u00ading the race described in the cam\u00adpaign source books and if I can\u2019t play the char\u00adac\u00adter (I\u2019m still try\u00ading to locate Pathfind\u00ader cam\u00adpaigns local\u00adly) then I\u2019d like to write about&nbsp;her.<\/li>\n<li>Notes about a poten\u00adtial man\u00adga \/ web com\u00adic based on the con\u00adcept of a maid cafe where the wait\u00adress\u00ades are all super\u00adnat\u00adur\u00adal beings. Three of them are of note: a suc\u00adcubus, a kit\u00adsune and a vam\u00adpire, all of which have hyp\u00adnot\u00adic abil\u00adi\u00adties. (It some\u00adone wants to pur\u00adsue pub\u00adli\u00adca\u00adtion, I would be glad to dis\u00adcuss it with&nbsp;them.)<\/li>\n<li>A pos\u00adsi\u00adble short sto\u00adry (inspired by a piece of art <a href=\"http:\/\/terasuccubi.tumblr.com\/post\/34156002899\/succubus-by-wind-as-found-at\">here<\/a>) about what was described as a \u201cSci-Fi Suc\u00adcubus\u201d which sparked sev\u00ader\u00adal scenes and a pos\u00adsi\u00adble plot but no real sto\u00adry as&nbsp;yet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>(And is any\u00adone else see\u00ading a pat\u00adtern with the main char\u00adac\u00adters in my fic\u00adtion writing?)<\/p>\n<p>Plus, I am, as always, job hunt\u00ading. I have at least start\u00aded my reg\u00adu\u00adlar (but part-time, alas) jobs with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.memorialcoliseum.com\/\">Allen Coun\u00adty War Memo\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal Col\u00adi\u00adse\u00adum<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nba.com\/dleague\/fortwayne\/\">Fort Wayne Mad Ants<\/a> so I\u2019ve had lit\u00adtle con\u00adcen\u00adtrat\u00aded time in which to do the nec\u00ades\u00adsary research and writ\u00ading to pub\u00adlish each week.
