This leads to an inter\u00adest\u00ading set of ques\u00adtions: can tastes be not only depressed but improved or changed because of sounds? (It could make an inter\u00adest\u00ading diet\u00ading aid, a specif\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly designed sound or sounds played while eat\u00ading to con\u00adtrol appetite, and that would<\/em> be a more benign form of mind control.)<\/p>\n

The sci\u00aden\u00adtists found that cer\u00adtain sounds not only affect\u00aded peo\u00adple\u2019s sense of salti\u00adness or sweet\u00adness, they also influ\u00adenced how crunchy some types of food sound\u00aded to the din\u00aders \u00e2\u20ac\u201c which in turn affect\u00aded their per\u00adcep\u00adtions of fresh\u00adness and palatability.<\/p>\n

A fur\u00adther part of the study showed that peo\u00adple lis\u00adten\u00ading to sounds they deemed to be pleas\u00adant were also more like\u00adly to say that their food was tasti\u00ader, which may explain why many restau\u00adrants play ambi\u00adent back\u00adground music.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
