A three-issue series and a soft-cov\u00ader col\u00adlec\u00adtion with addi\u00adtion\u00adal mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal, pro\u00adduced by Gilbert Her\u00adnan\u00addez<\/a>, \u201cBird\u00adland\u201d<\/em> is the sto\u00adry of the trou\u00adbled mar\u00adriage between Mark and Fritz Her\u00adrera and the lives of the peo\u00adple (espe\u00adcial\u00adly Mark\u2019s girl\u00adfriend Bang-Bang, Mark\u2019s broth\u00ader Simon with a fix\u00ada\u00adtion on Fritz and Fritz\u2019 sis\u00adter Petra with a fix\u00ada\u00adtion on Mark) sur\u00adround\u00ading them, espe\u00adcial\u00adly their sex\u00adu\u00adal lives. What is par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly rel\u00ade\u00advant is that Dr. Fritz main\u00adtains a psy\u00adchi\u00adatric prac\u00adtice using hyp\u00adno\u00adsis (and using her gold\u00aden heart-shaped pen\u00addant as a hyp\u00adnot\u00adic focus) in which she (and even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly her sis\u00adter) has sex with her hyp\u00adno\u00adtized male clients.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s the alien abduc\u00adtion (Greys<\/a>, it appears) ele\u00adments and the added era-span\u00adning mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal which leads to Mark and Fritz\u2019 pos\u00adsi\u00adble rec\u00adon\u00adcil\u00adi\u00ada\u00adtion, all of which draws the sto\u00adry into \u2018mag\u00adi\u00adcal real\u00adism\u2019<\/a> . Its all quite a con\u00adglom\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with very lit\u00adtle over\u00adall plot or char\u00adac\u00adter devel\u00adop\u00adment but that\u2019s not real\u00adly the point: the whole sto\u00adry is more of a snap\u00adshot of the rela\u00adtion\u00adships between the char\u00adac\u00adters with plen\u00adty of sex included.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/em> The entire book is total\u00adly NSFW<\/acronyn> or view\u00ading by any\u00adone under legal age. It is also very much out of print (the pub\u00adlish\u00ader is out of busi\u00adness) and hard to find.<\/p>\n

Adden\u00adda:<\/em> Gilbert Her\u00adnan\u00addez is broth\u00ader to Jaime Her\u00adnan\u00addez<\/a>. Togeth\u00ader they pro\u00adduced the award-win\u00adning and crit\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly acclaimed \u201cLove and Rock\u00adets\u201d<\/em><\/a> comics. Los Her\u00admanos Her\u00adnan\u00addez are two of the best artists and sto\u00adry\u00adtellers in the comics busi\u00adness, indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly and coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtive\u00adly: their work has con\u00adsis\u00adtent\u00adly shown a strong B&W art style with strong depic\u00adtions of the female char\u00adac\u00adters and a con\u00adcen\u00adtra\u00adtion on His\u00adpan\u00adic life and char\u00adac\u00adters. Gilbert\u2019s tale here is not as wide\u00adly known as his oth\u00ader works and is cor\u00adre\u00adspond\u00ading\u00adly just as dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to find. And although \u201cBird\u00adland\u201d<\/em> does share some char\u00adac\u00adters with \u201cLove and Rock\u00adets\u201d<\/em> they are tech\u00adni\u00adcal\u00adly not the same people.<\/p>\n
