Today (Thurs\u00adday) was the last day of a 20% off sale at Half-Price Books and I took the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to pick up a num\u00adber of selec\u00adtions for the Collection.<\/p>\n
All three sea\u00adsons of the \u201cWon\u00adder Woman\u201d<\/em> TV series star\u00adring Lyn\u00adda Carter and Lyle Wag\u00adgoner. No oth\u00ader series fea\u00adtures such con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00adal mind con\u00adtrol ele\u00adments, espe\u00adcial\u00adly Won\u00adder Wom\u00adan\u2019s famous las\u00adso, but there were also a num\u00adber of oth\u00ader hyp\u00adno\u00adsis or brain\u00adwash\u00ading ele\u00adments in the stories.<\/p>\n Peter Graves stars in this movie abut aliens who plan to mutate ordi\u00adnary insects and ani\u00admals into an unstop\u00adpable assault force on human\u00adi\u00adty. Grave\u2019s char\u00adac\u00adter is essen\u00adtial for his sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic con\u00adnec\u00adtions and is placed under the men\u00adtal con\u00adtrol of the aliens to pro\u00advide that assistance.<\/p>\n The entire 12 episode series, the third of the Flash Gor\u00addon seri\u00adals. This one is note\u00adwor\u00adthy for the episodes where Dale Arden is exposed to an amne\u00adsia agent and is turned against Flash. The set also includes episodes from the 50\u2019s TV series and might con\u00adtain anoth\u00ader mind con\u00adtrol storyline.<\/p>\n A do-it-your\u00adself self-hyp\u00adno\u00adsis book, with a large num\u00adber of scripts to fol\u00adlow and direc\u00adtions on how to write your own scripts.<\/p>\n [amtap book:isbn=0764125931]<\/p>\n A lav\u00adish\u00adly-illus\u00adtrat\u00aded guide to the sub\u00adject of hyp\u00adno\u00adsis, start\u00ading with the his\u00adto\u00adry of the sub\u00adject and mov\u00ading on to spe\u00adcif\u00adic sub\u00adjects such as the appli\u00adca\u00adtions of hyp\u00adno\u00adsis, self-hyp\u00adno\u00adsis, stage hyp\u00adno\u00adsis, etc. (It also includes a chap\u00adter enti\u00adtled \u2018Hyp\u00adno\u00adsis in the Media\u2019<\/em>.) Its a good book for the pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adal to give to non-pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adals to describe what they do.<\/p>\n And the one that got away, as the store could\u00adn\u2019t find the DVDs to put back into the packaging:<\/p>\n The black&white sea\u00adson, ear\u00adly in the show\u2019s his\u00adto\u00adry when it was as much con\u00adcerned with espi\u00adonage as with mon\u00adsters. This col\u00adlec\u00adtion includes the episode with the \u201cfear gas\u201d, where a for\u00adeign agent tries to dis\u00adrupt oper\u00ada\u00adtions by expos\u00ading the crew to a gas that mul\u00adti\u00adplied their latent fears. <\/p>\n There were a few oth\u00aders that are not des\u00adtined for the Col\u00adlec\u00adtion but I could\u00adn\u2019t just pass up, including:<\/p>\n The first and best of the 50\u2019s giant insect movies. Star\u00adring James Whit\u00admore and James Arness (and appear\u00adances by Whit Bis\u00adsell and Fess Park\u00ader and even Leonard Nimoy), its a taut and sus\u00adpense\u00adful sto\u00adry about mys\u00adte\u00adri\u00adous attacks in the desert near where the first atom\u00adic bomb test was car\u00adried out. The first 10 min\u00adutes are espe\u00adcial\u00adly creepy, set in a wind-blown desert where the only sign of the pres\u00adence of the giant insects is the smell and the sound they make: there is a real feel\u00ading of claus\u00adtro\u00adpho\u00adbic dan\u00adger here.
