(Of course, its a lit\u00adtle hard to so describe the H\u2011Dial now, as tele\u00adphones don\u2019t have dials, they have key\u00adpads.) Boy sci\u00aden\u00adtist Rob\u00adby Reed first dis\u00adcov\u00adered the H\u2011dial in a cave in Col\u00adorado and used it to pro\u00adtect the town of Lit\u00adtleville. Sev\u00ader\u00adal years lat\u00ader, teenagers Chris King and Vic\u00adki Grant would dis\u00adcov\u00ader a dif\u00adfer\u00adent pair of dials marked sim\u00adi\u00adlar\u00adly, which they used to become super\u00adheroes. Lat\u00ader, oth\u00aders, too, pos\u00adsessed one of the H\u2011Dials. Cur\u00adrent\u00adly, the pow\u00ader of the H\u2011Dial is pass\u00ading among ordi\u00adnary peo\u00adple in the New 52 DC era.<\/p>\n

As might be expect\u00aded, a few of the heroes these peo\u00adple trans\u00adformed into had hyp\u00adnot\u00adic powers.<\/p>\n

Robby Reed<\/h2>\n

Rob\u00adby Reed was a smart teenag\u00ader, which is why he was able to trans\u00adlate the mark\u00adings on the dial he found, but all it said was \u201cDial H for Hero\u201d. Press\u00ading the but\u00adtons that spelled out H\u2011E-R\u2011O, he was trans\u00adformed into a series of super\u00adheroes, includ\u00ading the Gold\u00aden Age hero, Plas\u00adtic Man.<\/p>\n

Hypno-Man (House of Mystery #159) \u2018The Clay Creep Gang\u2019<\/h3>\n

Hyp\u00adno-Man was one of three super\u00adhero forms Rob\u00adby used to bat\u00adtle the Clay\u00adface Gang, a group of crim\u00adi\u00adnals who dis\u00adcov\u00adered a way to turn them\u00adselves into clay-like forms that helped them com\u00admit crimes. Hyp\u00adno-Man\u2019s pow\u00ader of hyp\u00adno\u00adsis was cen\u00adtered around the spin\u00adning hyp\u00adno-disk on his chest, which was shat\u00adtered by a bul\u00adlet, stop\u00adping it (and him.) It was only because he could turn into anoth\u00ader hero after\u00adward that he was able to cap\u00adture the criminals.<\/p>\n

Com\u00admen\u00adtary:<\/em> Hyp\u00adno-Man is rem\u00adi\u00adnis\u00adcent of many mys\u00adti\u00adcal Gold\u00aden-Age super\u00adheroes, albeit with a tight cowl instead of a tur\u00adban for head\u00adgear. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly his \u2018hyp\u00adnot\u00adic ges\u00adture\u2019 motif is straight out of Man\u00addrake the Magician.<\/p>\n
