Two sto\u00adries involv\u00ading pup\u00adpets this week, one in the col\u00adlo\u00adqui\u00adal sense and one in the lit\u00ader\u00adal sense.<\/p>\n

Its the final show\u00addown between Misty Knight and the Pup\u00adpet Mas\u00adter, and he\u2019s brought out the big guns in his defense, in the per\u00adson of the Pun\u00adish\u00ader! And as is that isn\u2019t enough, when Pal\u00adadin and Iron Fist inves\u00adti\u00adgate, they\u2019re met with the Black Wid\u00adow, Fal\u00adcon and Moon Knight, all under the con\u00adtrol of the Pup\u00adpet Mas\u00adter. Its two run\u00adning fights until Misty man\u00adages to free the con\u00adtrolled heroes, but once that is done, the ques\u00adtion of who was pulling the Pup\u00adpet Mas\u00adter\u2019s strings is left unan\u00adswered. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly the brain\u00adwave manip\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy is a far cry from his usu\u00adal modus operan\u00addi<\/em> with mak\u00ading stat\u00adues of radioac\u00adtive clay. He is even seen talk\u00ading with some\u00adone he takes orders from. But who is that? He\u2019s not talk\u00ading, placed in a coma from a bul\u00adlet from the Punisher.<\/p>\n The tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy involved sug\u00adgests a num\u00adber of peo\u00adple or orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions, all with advanced techonol\u00ado\u00adgy. For the past few weeks, Misty was con\u00adtact\u00ading and direct\u00ading a num\u00adber of heroes using a sophis\u00adti\u00adcat\u00aded radio sys\u00adtem. Now we learn that the radio devices have anoth\u00ader pur\u00adpose: to record the brain\u00adwave pat\u00adters of any one who wore them and through the Pup\u00adpet Mas\u00adter\u2019s tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy, men\u00adtal\u00adly manip\u00adu\u00adlate them. Unfor\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly for him, the one per\u00adson he should have con\u00adtrolled was Misty, because she\u2019s the one who man\u00adaged to free the con\u00adtrolled heroes.<\/p>\n While Misty is free and want\u00adi\u00adng to get back into the hero busi\u00adness, she still has that ques\u00adtion to answer, and Pal\u00adadin wants to know if she\u2019s for hire to answer that ques\u00adtion. Misty\u2019s answer is to ask Pal\u00adadin the same quesiton.<\/p>\n Zatan\u00adna is now in the form of a mar\u00adi\u00adonette, the result of Oscar Hemple\u2019s use of a num\u00adber of mys\u00adti\u00adcal arti\u00adfacts and his desire to break the curse Zatan\u00adna\u2019s father placed on him, return\u00ading him to human and turn\u00ading the curse back on Zatan\u00adna. As a mar\u00adi\u00adonette, she dances on her strings to his com\u00admand, until she final\u00adly man\u00adages to use her mag\u00adic to restore her mind if not her body. She needs some\u00adone who can also pull her strings to help her out to make that a reality.<\/p>\n With all of her friends and asso\u00adciates, such as her cousin Zachary or any num\u00adber of oth\u00ader heroes both super\u00adnat\u00adur\u00adal and oth\u00ader\u00adwise, it is her friend and stage man\u00adag\u00ader Mikey who real\u00adizes she was miss\u00ading and notices her per\u00adform\u00ading on tele\u00advi\u00adsion, then tracks her and Oscar down. With Mikey\u2019s assis\u00adtance, Zatan\u00adna man\u00adages to at least become inde\u00adpen\u00addent of her strings, although she\u2019s still a mar\u00adi\u00adonette. That\u2019s when Oscar decides to fin\u00adish the trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion, and add Mikey to his cast of marionettes.<\/p>\nZatana #11<\/h2>\n
