<\/p>\n

Voodoo was a mem\u00adber of the WildC.A.T.<\/a>s, a covert action super\u00adhero team, who became dis\u00adap\u00adpoint\u00aded with her life as a super\u00adhero and trav\u00adelled to New Orleans to take up her for\u00admer job as an exot\u00adic dancer (stage name: Voodoo.) Upon arriv\u00ading, she is met by both Papa Leg\u00adba<\/a> and Mait\u2019 Car\u00adrefour<\/a>, decid\u00ading to fol\u00adlow the lat\u00adter to dance at the Mid\u00adnight Lounge. The own\u00ader of the Lounge, Chris\u00adt\u00adian Charles, was mur\u00adder\u00ading dancers and any\u00adone who inquired about them as part of his scheme to use the blood to revive his dead father, Jean-Pierre LaCroix, with the assis\u00adtance of Car\u00adrefour. Papa Leg\u00adba and the oth\u00aders of the loa<\/em> are wor\u00adried that his scheme would suc\u00adcede all too well, and saw Priscil\u00adla as their appoint\u00aded tool to stop him.<\/p>\n

When Chris\u00adt\u00adian is final\u00adly able to res\u00adur\u00adrect his father, the loa<\/em> can\u00adnot inter\u00advene, but a for\u00admer super\u00adhero can. Danc\u00ading and pos\u00adsessed (rid\u00adden) by Erzulie Fre\u00adda<\/a>, Priscil\u00adla lures Chris\u00adt\u00adian Charles and his res\u00adur\u00adrect\u00aded father through Erzule\u2019s own super\u00adnat\u00adur\u00adal attrac\u00adtion back to the hotel where his father was killed and where he con\u00adfronts the three of the most pow\u00ader\u00adful of the loa<\/em>, Erzule, Papa Leg\u00adba and Baron Same\u00addi. Togeth\u00ader, they put and end to the plans of Chris\u00adt\u00adian Charles and his father. And when her job was fin\u00adished, Priscil\u00adla begins her true ini\u00adti\u00ada\u00adtion into voodoo.<\/p>\n

Com\u00admen\u00adtary:<\/em> \u201cVoodoo: Danc\u00ading in the Dark\u201d<\/em>  was writ\u00adten by one of the best super\u00adhero comics writ\u00aders in the busi\u00adness, Alan Moore<\/a>, tak\u00ading the char\u00adac\u00adter in ways nev\u00ader imag\u00adined by her cre\u00adaters (as they state in the fore\u00adword to the col\u00adlec\u00adtion.) Moore has said this was not his best work, but it still stands as a good read.
