Sev\u00ader\u00adal high school stu\u00addents were on stage, respond\u00ading to his sug\u00adges\u00adtions just as oth\u00aders had in the&nbsp;past.<\/p>\n<p>But once it was over and the audi\u00adence start\u00aded leav\u00ading, then it hap\u00adpened. In what appears to be a case of mass hys\u00adte\u00adria, over 40 of the stu\u00addents began act\u00ading odd\u00adly. First a few, then sev\u00ader\u00adal, then many of the stu\u00addents start\u00aded dis\u00adplay\u00ading abnor\u00admal reac\u00adtions. They were all tak\u00aden to a hos\u00adpi\u00adtal and all are report\u00aded to be okay. The hyp\u00adno\u00adtist him\u00adself was tak\u00aden into police cus\u00adtody as par\u00adents accused him of witchcraft.<\/p>\n<p>With very lit\u00adtle to go on, its hard to come to any oth\u00ader con\u00adclu\u00adsion than this being a case of mass hys\u00adte\u00adria. It is known that only one of the stu\u00addents affect\u00aded were ever on stage. It does also demon\u00adstrate the pow\u00ader of hys\u00adte\u00adria as it devel\u00adoped from just one per\u00adson to a whole groyup. What I find inter\u00adest\u00ading is the break\u00addown: out of the 41 stu\u00addents, only 5 were boys while 36 were girls. The arti\u00adcle does\u00adn\u2019t say which was the one who was actu\u00adal\u00adly on stage but the odds are very much in favor of it being a&nbsp;girl.<\/p>\n<p>Unfor\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly this sort of thing (and the report\u00ading that accom\u00adpa\u00adnied it) just fur\u00adthers the stereo\u00adtypes involved.
