I am mak\u00ading the fol\u00adlow\u00ading res\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtions for the year 2012 in regards to the Hyp\u00adno\u00adsis in Media blog:<\/p>\n
I resolve to fin\u00adish read\u00ading at least one unread book a week from the Col\u00adlec\u00adtion. There are a lot of books in the col\u00adlec\u00adtion, fic\u00adtion and non-fic\u00adtion, that I haven\u2019t even opened after I bought them. This is espe\u00adcial\u00adly true about the non-fic\u00adtion, par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar\u00adly the late 19th<\/sup> and ear\u00adly 20th<\/sup> Cen\u00adtu\u00adry stuff, which I am expect\u00ading to be very boring.<\/p>\n I resolve to increase my post writ\u00ading. I have a only cou\u00adple of blog posts already writ\u00adten and ready to pub\u00adlish if I can\u2019t get any\u00adthing else done by the pub\u00adli\u00adca\u00adtion dead\u00adline. I would like to have at least three times the num\u00adber I have now, which means not only research\u00ading and writ\u00ading the reg\u00adu\u00adlar post but a sec\u00adond or third one each week.<\/p>\n a ) I resolve to seri\u00adous\u00adly start my research into the top\u00adic of the ori\u00adgins of the vam\u00adpire\u2019s hyp\u00adnot\u00adic gaze. Its not in the orig\u00adi\u00adnal Stok\u00ader but it was a part of vam\u00adpire lore by the time of the Bela Lugosi \u201cDrac\u00adu\u00adla\u201d<\/em>. I expect it is also strong\u00adly asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded with the folk\u00adlore of the \u201cEvil Eye\u201d. My effort will have to start with first tying down the first appear\u00adances of the sub\u00adject in the media, which will be dif\u00adfi\u00adcult as that may include stage per\u00adfor\u00admances (such time being before movies were wide\u00adly popular.)<\/p>\n b ) I resolve to con\u00adtin\u00adue my research into the sub\u00adject of the var\u00adi\u00adous social con\u00adven\u00adtions that affect the suc\u00adcess of hyp\u00adnot\u00adic induc\u00adtions, with the even\u00adtu\u00adal goal of com\u00adplet\u00ading the book I am cur\u00adrent\u00adly writ\u00ading and even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly self-pub\u00adli\u00adca\u00adtion. I\u2019ve already iden\u00adti\u00adfied a very large (and diverse) num\u00adber of these con\u00adven\u00adtions and my major task now is ade\u00adquate\u00adly describ\u00ading them in such a way that can be applied by any prac\u00adtic\u00ading hyp\u00adno\u00adtist. I do not expect to be able to fin\u00adish it this year but I hope to at least dou\u00adble the word count (now some\u00adwhere around 35,000 words)\u00c2 this year. Plus I want to get what I have writ\u00adten in the hands of peo\u00adple I can trust to review and cri\u00adtique it as I write it.<\/p>\n I resolve (and hope to able to afford) to attend a cou\u00adple of hyp\u00adno\u00adsis-relat\u00aded con\u00adven\u00adtions and events this year, one that I have almost a stand\u00ading invi\u00adta\u00adtion to attend and present at, and one of which I may actu\u00adal\u00adly be asso\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded with.<\/p>\n As part of these res\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtions, I also resolve to post peri\u00adod\u00adic updates on how I am ful\u00adfill\u00ading these oth\u00ader resolutions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"2 ) Writing<\/h2>\n
